Energy from Yale's on-campus power plants is used to power, heat, and cool University buildings.
Each building's share of emissions is based on the amount of energy it uses. To some extent, energy use is dependent on building size. Yet, even emissions (or energy consumption) per square foot are higher for some building types than for others. This graph illustrates the average energy intensity of Yale's buildings. One can see that Yale's Medical facility and web and dry laboratories are the significantly above the average.
